Alternative token versions
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Some chains have more than one version of the same stablecoin, for example a native and a bridged USDC on a native USDT and the newer LayerZero bridged USD₮0. On each chain, Rhino.fi treats only one version as the default. We accept selected alternative versions, so deposits that arrive in the "other" version are processed instead of requiring a refund.
Supported alternative versions
as of Oct 1, 2027
Chain | Default | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
Optimism | USD₮0
| USDT
|
Gnosis | USDC.e
| USDC
|
How it works
Alternative versions are accepted as deposits to Smart Deposit Addresses (SDAs).
No
tokenOutset: the deposit is delivered 1:1 as the default version on the destination chain. For example, USDT deposited on Optimism arrives as USD₮0.tokenOutset: the deposit is delivered as the configuredtokenOut, as with any other deposit.
Alternative versions are deposit only. They can't be set as tokenOut, and Rhino.fi never delivers them.
What to know
No integration changes. Alternative versions don't appear in the bridge configs or in an SDA's
supportedTokenslist. Nothing changes in how you integrate.Symbol in transaction data. In API responses and webhooks, these deposits show as
USDT_ALTorUSDC_ALT, not the default symbol. If you match on token symbol, map these to USDT and USDC.Pricing. Alternative version → default version is delivered 1:1 at no extra cost and doesn't count towards the 1:1 stablecoin swap allowance. Delivery into any other token follows standard stablecoin pricing and counts towards 1:1 stablecoin swap allowance.
